What You'll Need Helmets etc are very personal items. We feel that it is best that everyone provide their own safety equipment to ensure a correct fit and the peace of mind of knowing the condition of your own equipment.(Not to mention not having had lots of other people’s sweaty heads in them.) Crash helmets are compulsory in Italy, your level of protective equipment is your choice. We recommend at least gloves and boots, and preferably jeans and jacket of a protective nature such as leather or Kevlar. The weather is likely to be warm/hot and dry, but of course we cannot guarantee it will not rain. Jeans, t-shirts, jumpers for the evenings. You may want to bring a small backpack, in case you wish to buy anything while we are out. You must have your own travel insurance which covers motorcycling and any treatment which may be needed in the unfortunate event of an accident, and repatriation if necessary. It is also advisable to have a policy which covers you in the event of cancellation. We will need to see proof of this insurance before you commence the tour. You must have held a full motorcycle licence for at least two years, and we will require a copy of this before you arrive.
