About Us Tuscan Moto Tours is the fulfillment of a childhood dream. When I was 11 a friend of my parent's asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, and with the honesty of a child I replied “ride motorbikes”. This comment resulted in me receiving said friend's old motorbike to ride round the fields. The rest, as they say, is history. Like most of us it took years for the dream to resurface as a reality, but when I found myself without a job and with some money in the bank my wife and I came to Tuscany for a few months to decide on what to do next. I brought my bike with me and spent a lot of time riding the Apuane mountains of Lunigiana, and that dream started to call me. I have ridden all over the UK, in Europe and coast to coast across America, but these were the types of roads I had always dreamed of. The passes have every kind of bend you could hope for, the weather is dry and hot, and at the end of a day in the saddle there is good wine often made on the premises and home-cooked food, served by friendly people. Finally, conjure up the motorcycling background of Italy, names such as Ducati, Bimota, MV Augusta, Aprillia, Moto Guzzi, Cagiva - Valentino Rossi, Max Biaggi, Loris Capirossi - Alpine Stars, Diadora, Suomy, Sidi, Pirelli, and its appeal became irresistible. Having to fly home while we were here, soon brought home to me that it is cheaper these days to fly than travel overland. After riding these roads on a big Japanese four cylinder and having been passed more than a few times by supermotos, I thought these seemed an exciting and less exhausting way to enjoy the winding passes of the Apuane and Appenine Alps . So, I reasoned that if I could offer people exciting bikes, beautiful scenery, and a holiday to remember at the end of a short flight, I could make dreams come true for others as well as myself. So come and join me and see how it feels to ride the roads you dream of... "Thanks for a fantastic week, the
way you looked after me certainly felt like you went the extra mile.
Bikes were excellent. Since returning home and riding my NC30 I
have noticed a few things - #1 my riding is much better and I am
much more confident after such an extensive week on exceptionally
twisty roads #2 I miss your twisty roads!" |
